"My husband and I live across the state and have been wanting to try this shop, we didn’t realize they closed in 20min - but we were greeted with smiles and a welcoming attitude. We were offered both the food and drink menus, but only grabbed coffee to go. Thank you for not only being really kind, but for also making great coffee! We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area!"

"Cute little place. Sat in the sit down area on a Saturday. It was steady busy. My friend and I ordered separately, I wish they brought the food and drink at the same time. They came to our table four times for two coffees, a bagel and toast. Wish they had a few more "toast" options"

The Rise of Breakfast Culture

Breakfast has come a long way from its humble beginnings. In colonial America, the first meal of the day was often simple, featuring foods like porridge or leftover stew. However, by the 19th century, the idea of breakfast began to evolve, especially in Connecticut. With the influence of European customs, many affluent households started serving lavish breakfasts that included eggs, bacon, and even pastries. This shift reflected not only changing tastes but also a growing emphasis on the importance of breakfast as a leisurely meal. The cultural backdrop of Connecticut, with its blend of agricultural and industrial roots, set the stage for these evolving breakfast rituals.
